Taiwan Women's Golf Open, slated to be held at Hsin Yi Golf Club in Kaohsiung between January 17 and 20, is hosted by Kaohsiung City Government and CTGA. In Day 2 of competition, the sunny weather is suitable for players to show their best performance.

Taiwanese Pei-Ying Tsai shot a 3-under 69, currently sit for 2nd place at seven-under 137 for the tournament. “I’m in trouble on my back nine; however, nothing is better than hitting a birdie on the 18th hole to close it out today” Tsai said.

Taiwanese 17-year-old amateur Hsin Yu Lu, one of TLPGA champions, reeled off six birdies in a bogey-free round en route to a 6-under 66, currently tied for 3rd place at six-under 138 for the tournament. Talking about impressive performance today. “I was a little bit nervous at the beginning, but as the competition went on, I was able to set the pace and try to control myself.” Lu said.

23-year-old A Lim Kim of Korea put on a show that brought down the house today, as she shot a 67 to take a one-shot lead over first-round leader Pei-Ying Tsai of Taiwan after the second round of the Taiwan Women's Golf Open. “Overall I am happy with my score today because it was tough out there. Some of the pin positions were really challenging. I was able to learn from yesterday, and try to improve everything.” Kim said.

Featured former world no.1 Yani Tseng of Taiwan, there are many hometown fans who followed her every stroke and putt today at Hsin Yi Golf Club. Tseng shoot a 1-under 71 today to tie for ninth with Ssu-Chia Cheng. “I’m in trouble with my driving and iron today, but then I told myself to calm down and be patient, trying not to let it bother me.” At the end of the day, Tseng end up with a birdie on the 18th hole to close it out.

Local favorite Wei-Ling Hsu and Yu-Ju Chen each carded a 71 at one-under 143 for the tournament to sit at T19.

Round 3 of the 2019 Taiwan Women's Golf Open will tee off from 09:20 AM tomorrow, with the leading group made up of Pei-Ying Tsai, Hsin Yu Lu and A Lim Kim scheduled to start at 11:21 AM. Former world no. 1 Yani Tseng will tee off tomorrow with Ssu-Chia Cheng at 10:48 A.M. Local favorite Wei-Ling Hsu will start at 10:04 A.M. Hometown heroine Yu-Ju Chen will tee off with Hye Jin Choi of Korea at 09:53 A.M.

Taiwan Women's Golf Open has returned to the tour calendar after 12 years with a total purse of US$800,000. Co-sanctioned by TLPGA and KLPGA, TWGO aims to promote Taiwan’s golf development as well as the splendors of the host city, Kaohsiung, to the world.

If driving to the venue, please take advantage of the open parking on both sides of Hsin Yi road. Parking passes are required to enter parking lot of Hsin Yi Golf Club during tournament week.
