The Faldo Series has announced National Golf Country Club in Miaoli as the new venue for its Chinese Taipei Championship on July 26-27. 18 year-old Liu Yi-Chen, the first player in Faldo Series history to hold the girls’ title in Europe and Asia, will headline the field.
2011年佛度盃台灣錦標賽將於7月26-27日於苗栗全國花園鄉村俱樂部舉行, 而盃賽歷史上首位拿下歐洲區及亞洲區雙料冠軍的台灣選手劉依貞將參與比賽,勢必成為全場焦點。
“The Faldo Series has offered me great opportunities to play all over the world, make new friends and learn from a golfing legend, Sir Nick Faldo,” said Liu who earlier this year added the Asian title to the European title she won at Lough Erne Resort in Ireland last September. “I’m excited to start another season and have the chance to defend my titles in Europe and Asia.”
劉依貞說：「佛度盃讓我有機遇能到世界各地打比賽，認識許多新朋友，更從高爾夫傳奇尼克佛度爵士身上學到許多 」 。她曾在去年九月在北愛爾蘭厄恩湖球場拿下第14屆歐洲區總決賽女子組冠軍並於今年初奪得亞洲區女子組冠軍。「我很期待新的賽季開始,讓我更積極去衛冕雙料冠軍」。
With Chinese Taipei’s Tseng Yani, the current ladies world number one, also a former Faldo Series winner, a traditionally strong field of Taiwanese golfers aged 12 to 21 will compete over 36 holes at National Golf Country Club in the western county of Miaoli.
現排名LPGA第一名的台灣之光曾雅妮之前也曾是佛度盃的冠軍得主。而12到21歲實力一向強勁的台灣選手也都將參與此次於苗栗全國花園鄉村俱樂部舉行的36洞賽事。
Divided into five age-groups, three for boys and two for girls, the winner of each division will qualify for the sixth Faldo Series Asia Grand Final, a World Amateur Golf Ranking event to be hosted by six-time Major winner Nick Faldo at Mission Hills Golf Club in China in March 2012.
台灣區錦標賽將分成五個年齡組別：男生三組，女生兩組，各分組冠軍將取得2012年三月赴觀瀾湖參加第六屆佛度盃亞洲區總決賽的資格，由曾經贏得六次大賽的尼克佛度邀請，比賽並納入R&A世界業餘排名。
Established in 1996, 35 Faldo Series tournaments now take place in 25 countries worldwide with over 5,000 golfers participating each year. In addition to Tseng, former winners include Rory McIlroy, Nick Dougherty, Marc Warren, John Parry, Melissa Reid and Florentyna Parker, also winners on Tour.
佛度盃創始於1996年，目前在25個國家每年舉辦35場以上的佛度系列賽，每年超過5000個選手參加。歷年冠軍包括曾雅妮、Rory McIlroy, Nick Dougherty, Marc Warren, John Parry, Melissa Reid ，和 Florentyna Parker，如今都已是職業巡迴賽的優秀選手。

The 2011/2012 Faldo Series Asia schedule features a record 18 tournaments in 14 different countries including five in mainland China plus others in The Philippines, Vietnam, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Bahrain, Brunei, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Pakistan, Indonesia and Thailand. 2011/2012年的亞洲系列賽將再創新高，預計將在14 個國家舉辦18場比賽，包括中國大陸的5場，以及菲律賓、越南、印度、新加坡、馬來西亞、香港、巴林、汶萊、日本、台灣、巴基斯坦、印尼和泰國各一場。
